With this new book, "Strength of Materials 1", Professor Ştefan D. Pastramă presents an introduction to this important subject of Engineering, intended for a semester course of second year students. As adequate for the intended readers, the presentation is of introductory level and concentrates on basic aspects of Strength of Materials: after introducing the concepts of stress and strain, the book gives detailed presentations of axial loading, torsion and bending.
