The work includes a number of 9 chapters related to different periods of development of cities and three appendices.
At the beginning of the paper, an introduction to urbanism and urban planning issues is made.
Each chapter includes a brief presentation of the characteristics of the analyzed period from an urban and architectural point of view and examples of significant buildings.
The last chapter also presents some plans and proposals for realizing the city of the next 30 years.
The work is addressed to non-specialists who are fascinated by the variety of architectures of old cities and the amenities of modern cities.
