The field of wastewater treatment is particularly dynamic due to the impact it has on the environment, man and society. The need to develop the field is imposed by the increasingly restrictive conditions formulated in the latest regulations and laws relative to the values ​​that characterize environmental protection and, in particular, those related to the operation of treatment plants. The field is particularly dynamic in terms of the appearance of new types of efficient installations that are in continuous development, that circulate polyphase fluids and operate in heavy working conditions without interruption.
The subject of this work is the study of the reliability of waste water treatment equipment in order to obtain some indicators that want to be included in the technical documentation of the manufacturers and in the specifications for the construction of new treatment plants.
It is a field of great topicality and interest for society, industry, equipment manufacturers, treatment plant operators due to the importance it has in order to reduce the operating costs of treatment plants .
In the field of wastewater treatment, all solutions are sought for the provision of mechanical and electrical equipment with the installation and the distribution network under the conditions of the restrictions formulated for energy consumption and therefore for operating costs. Thus, the identification of all technical solutions is sought to increase the reliability of the equipment in wastewater treatment plants and to increase the operating endurance, knowing that they work in continuous processes.
Problems of this nature are particularly complex because they require a perfect correlation between all participating factors – of a different nature: mechanical, hydrodynamic and electrical. In this context, obtaining solutions through process modeling and simulation is of particular importance and significance.
