Diesel locomotives. Driving and operating guide   

This guide, which is in fact an appendix to the Locomotive Driver's Procedures Manual, aims to address each type of diesel locomotive commonly encountered on the Romanian railway network, both at railway operators with private capital and in the fleet of operators state. The role of the guide is to complete the comprehensive notions included in the Manual, adapting them to the particularities of diesel locomotives currently in operation in Romania.  

A thorough knowledge of rail motor vehicles, both in terms of operation and mode of operation and the various component sub-assemblies, is an essential step in their use and maintenance in accordance with the regulations and standards in force.
