Non-destructive testing or non-destructive tests play a particularly important role in ensuring that the parts of a structure will perform their functions for a predetermined period of time. Nondestructive testing specialists have created and implemented tests that characterize materials or detect, locate, and measure defects that can cause airplane crashes, nuclear power plant explosions, train derailments, fires, and a whole range of other less visible events, but just as dangerous.
